Its been said that the best way to “catch ‘em” is to” know ‘em”. Chris Pfohl knows fish and he knows sport fishing like the back of his hand. After all, he got his start at the ripe old age of three! Ever since he has been luring fish to his hook, catching and skilfully releasing them to live another day in their natural habitat, not only in beautiful Canadian waters but around the world.
In his day job, Chris works to protect fish. As an Aquatics Resource Specialist, having earned his diploma in environmental technology from Sir Sandford Fleming College, he has traveled around the globe providing his services to help protect fisheries habitats.
As a keen sports fisherman he journalizes every day of fishing experience, building a wealth of knowledge and pictorial evidence of his success in fishing all species and sport fishing methods. This earned him a place on the Canadian Fly Fishing Team where he brought honours to Canada as the first Silver Medalist in International Fly Fishing at the Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championship held in New Zealand during April, 2008.
Dedication and passion for the sport and a desire to pass that along to those who wish to learn the art of sport fishing. That’s what it takes … …to earn a nickname like Fishbowl!!
We believe in practicing proper catch and release techniques to help sustain our sport fisheries while ensuring the ethical treatment of our environment and use every means possible to conserve and protect it.
